Marmot Basin Partners with Aspenware to Enhance their Guest Experience
Dec 16th, 2021
Marmot Basin, located near Jasper, Alberta in the Canadian Rockies, opened for the season on November 18th. Not only has there been an abundance of fresh snowfall but also fresh new technology to enhance the Marmot Basin guest experience, including RFID cards for quick, seamless mountain access for guests and a new Aspenware-powered online store to ensure skiers and riders have a convenient way to purchase and use Marmot Basin products.
RFID Cards Get Skiers and Riders on the Mountain Quickly
The new online store was designed specifically with guests in mind to ensure a seamless online purchase and mountain arrival experience. Marmot Basin guests may now purchase their lift tickets online and collect their RFID card at an on-mountain pick-up box by scanning the QR code sent via email confirmation. Once they’ve obtained their RFID card at their first visit this season, they can reload that same card each time they visit and go directly to the lifts. There’s no need to pick up a new card or visit the ticket window.
New Ecommerce Store and Escape Card Product
Marmot Basin’s Aspenware Commerce store will also be powering the Marmot Escape Card product. The Escape Card is the best ski and snowboard deal in the Canadian Rockies! It allows loyal Marmot Basin skiers and riders to save 50% off regular-priced tickets all season long. The deal also includes savings at partner ski areas across Alberta, Saskatoon, and British Columbia. Escape Cards can be purchased online, on the mountain, or from Marmot Basin partners. Once a guest purchases an Escape Card and creates an online account, they can purchase tickets at 50% off on the Aspenware-powered Marmot Basin Store.
Aspenware Commerce Leverages Existing POS and Customer Data
As a result of the deep integration Aspenware Commerce has with Marmot Basin’s POS and customer database, the online store knows when an Escape Cardholder is logged in and allows them to purchase their deeply discounted lift tickets. The sophisticated Aspenware reload flow also allows guests who have purchased their Escape Card from a Marmot Basin partner vendor to enter their card number online, upload a photo, and register the card in their name. This action then allows them to access the 50% of discounted lift tickets for future visits.
“The team at Marmot Basin is committed to providing the best possible experience for their skiers and riders. They understand their market and provide unique products that ensure their loyal guests are rewarded with exceptional value and experiences. The Escape Card is a product created to encourage loyal skiers and riders to visit frequently and to attract new skiers and riders who will develop a lifelong passion for the mountains. We are thrilled to be working with the talented team at Marmot Basin and look forward to supporting their commitment to providing exceptional experiences for their guests.” Rob Clark – CEO, Aspenware
Marmot Basin will also be selling their rentals, lessons and season passes on their new Aspenware Commerce store soon.
“Our experience working with Aspenware to implement our new online store has been nothing short of exceptional. The team is engaged, highly responsive and is clearly motivated to work with us to achieve our goal of providing the best online experience for our customers.” – Brian Rode, Marmot Basin Vice President
