Senior UX Designer

Location: Denver, CO or Remote

What You Will Do: 

You will be responsible for leading a variety of design initiatives across an existing and new suite of features. You will work alongside product management and engineering to define a great product. This position requires deep customer focus, and the ability to make hard decisions fast.  You have designed ecommerce solutions in the past and can adapt best practices to fit the ski industry.   

Your focus areas will include: 

  • Create user-centered designs by considering customer feedback, usability findings and market analysis 
  • Use customer feedback, business requirements and market research to assist in developing use cases, high-level requirements 
  • Analyze the use of our product and propose improvements, changes and new functionality 
  • Apply strong visual design aesthetic to evolve our user experience 
  • Facilitate solution brainstorming with teams by bringing customer voice and best design practices 
  • Design information architecture, user interfaces, and interaction flows 
  • Use an established design system to solve new UX problems 
  • Develop conceptual diagrams, workflows, wireframes, visual mockups, and prototypes 
  • Present design work to the product team, and executives for review and feedback 
  • Create prototypes for usability testing 
  • Conduct and analyze different user tests to verify product hypotheses 
  • Collaborate to define solutions and iterate based on user and team feedback 
  • Participate in Agile software development process 
  • Create visuals and assets for the marketing department (e.g. print/digital ads and presentation materials)

 

Who You Are: 

You are obsessed with the customer experience and believe that no experience is perfect unless it delights customers in unexpected ways.  You iterate quickly, based on feedback and data, and deliver recommendations and designs that tell the story of the customer experience we are delivering. 

Ideally, this person has: 

  • 5+ years of experience in user experience or visual design-focused roles from mobile to desktop. 
  • 3+ years of experience designing ecommerce experiences 
  • Knowledge of ecommerce best practices 
  • A portfolio showcasing examples of work across various stages of the design and product development process 
  • Experience walking an organization or team through a UX process to arrive at a design 
  • Experience prototyping proof of concepts for stakeholder presentations and usability testing 
  • Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with developers for the implementation of designs 
  • Experiencing designing end-to-end flows and experiences  
  • Experience with using and developing a design library based on atomic, reusable components, templates, pages, etc. 
  • Outstanding execution and care for all aspects of design from conceptual thinking to visual design 
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity, a fast-paced environment and take initiative 
  • Highly proficient with a variety of design tools (specifically Figma which is Aspenware’s current tool of choice) 
  • Visual design expertise demonstrated through mockups, motion studies, and prototypes 
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with end-users, designers, engineers, product managers, customers, and end-users 
  • Strong knowledge of design thinking methodology, usability best practices, and visual design principles 
  • Experience working in Agile software development process 
  • Comfortable with HTML and CSS best practices 
  • Bachelor’s degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience 
  • Industry experience in ski or hospitality is a plus but not required

Salary: the salary range for this position is $140,000.00-$170,000.00

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate salary range is listed above. The actual offer will be determined by various factors including experience, skills, and internal equity among our team.
