Celebrating Unsung Heroes in Tech
It’s November and many resorts in North America are opening for the 2022/23 season. Snowmakers are working hard to build a base. Lift operators are working overtime to prepare ski lifts for passengers. Resort staff are busy onboarding seasonal workers, putting processes in place, and helping guests plan their trips to the mountain. Behind the scenes, often in a small, dark office or closet, there are people who also work tirelessly to make sure that things run smoothly - your IT staff.
Resort IT staff takes on everything from resort networks and the point-of-sale system to the ecommerce platform, pickup boxes, and backroom printers. They likely touch more aspects of the ski resort business than any other department on the mountain.
Earlier this year, in collaboration with Ski Area Management (SAM), Aspenware launched an Unsung Heroes in Tech campaign to shed some light on the individuals in those dark back offices. During the campaign, ski resort staff were encouraged to nominate their colleagues as the “Unsung Heroes” of the mountain. At Aspenware, we have the privilege of working with several of these individuals at our partner resorts, and over the next few weeks, we’d like to introduce you to them. These individuals share our vision of facilitating easy and frictionless experiences that create lifelong memories in the mountains. Watch our web and social channels to learn why these folks are Unsung Heroes!
